Arrive at Marseille Airport around mid morning to be collected by the VentouxCC mini bus and trailer.
Your transfer to the accommodation is 1 hour 15 mins.
The afternoon/early evening can be spent assembling bikes and sampling the local VentouxCC climb up to Blauvac. In the evening we head out to our first Restaurant meal. Return for a good nights sleep and prepare for the first full days riding.
We take in the magnificent Gorges De La Nesque along with some beautiful villages and Cols in the Luberon National Park. Around 100km and 2000m of climbing. This can be abridged if you would like an easier day before the Ventoux or Cingles challenge tomorrow.
Once back at base, you can relax over coffee and cake before we go and sample the delights of another top local restaurant.
The big one, Day 3 is usually reserved for the Ventoux (weather permitting). Depending on your criteria this will involve 1, 2 or 3 ascents of the Bald Mountain from Bedoin, Malaucene or Sault (or all 3). Around 160km and just under 5000m of climbing.
As on the other days, return to base and get ready for the evening restaurant and 'celebratory' drinks.
An easier 'recovery' day is usually scheduled for the sunday. An ambling tour not over the Ventoux but around it. But beware, this still involves nearly 100km and 2000m of climbing, but all taken with a more leisurely approach. Lots of stops, lots of sleepy villages (it's sunday in France after all) before heading out in the evening to our final restaurant.
This is departure day, but dont panic, there's still ample time for a relaxed ride across to the Dentelle range and back. Around 70km and 1400m of climbing. It rounds of your tour nicely and once again is a spectacular ride, a great way to finish.
Return to base to pack up your bikes and board the shuttle to Marseille Airport.
à la prochaine!
